على الرغم من أنَّ عشبة الراوند نوع من أنواع الخضروات، إلا أنّها تُستخدم غالباً مع الفاكهة في تحضير الحلويات، والمربى، بالإضافة إلى المشروبات، ويمكن أن تؤكل الرواند نيئة، ولكن بسبب نكهتها اللاذعة، فإنها عادةً تُطهى، وتُحلّى بالسكر، ومن الجدير بالذكر أنّ أوراق  الراوند غير صالحة للأكل ويجب تجنبها

 


Victoria Rhubarb has been a favorite for a long time.

The English have been growing this rhubarb since the 1830s making it one of the oldest existing rhubarb varieties.

Victoria makes the absolute best cooking type of rhubarb.

Much milder and sweeter than other types.

Victoria is very large with slender, tall and tender crimson red stalks.

Excellent for cobblers and pies.

Rhubarb loves rich well composted soil in a partially shaded area. They despise hot, burning afternoon sun.

Remember, this plant will live for many years so plant it where you know you are going to keep it.

Needs plenty of room in the garden as the plant will has a spread of two foot across and a height of 24-36".

Recommended to start indoors in sterile potting mix. Plant seeds 1/4 inch below the surface. Seeds take 2-3 weeks to germinate. When plants are 3-4" tall begin to harden off for transplanting to the garden.
