Spring Onion Plants (pot of 5)

Already growing. Just plant them.One pot, about 5 spring onion plants. Separate them at home and plant each one on its own — or keep the whole clump in a wide pot and cut as you need.

Spring onion (green onion) — long green tops and a slim white base, no bulb.

Mild, fresh onion flavour. Chop into salads, eggs, soups, rice and marinades.

The quickest onion to grow in Kuwait: cut the tops and they grow back, again and again through winter.

When to pick: Start cutting leaves 3–4 weeks after planting, leaving 3 cm above the soil so they regrow. Pull whole plants when the base is pencil-thick.

Your first days

Day 0 — unbox today. Bright shade. A little water if the soil is dry.

Next few days — let it settle. Same spot, same pot, for several days. Moving it too soon causes transplant shock.

When it's settled — plant late afternoon. Gently pull the plants apart, keeping the roots. Plant each one shallow, white base just under the soil, 5–8 cm apart. Water in.

First month — water mornings. Keep the soil evenly damp. Feed every 2 weeks after the first 2 weeks.

Don't panic if…

Leaves flop over — normal after moving, they stand up again. Leaf tips brown — normal after separating. Tops get cut and look bare — they regrow in 2 weeks.

Planting steps in detail

You need: Potting Soil Mix and a shovel. A wide pot or trough 15–20 cm deep, or a sunny spot in the garden.

1. Pot: fill with Potting Soil Mix. Ground: dig, mix a few handfuls in.

2. Water the pot an hour before. Squeeze it and slide the soil ball out whole.

3. Gently pull the plants apart — a little root damage is fine, onions recover fast. Never pull hard on one stem.

4. Plant each one 5–8 cm apart, shallow: the white base just under the soil. Press, water until it drains.

Late afternoon, never at noon. No feeding for the first 2 weeks.

From the farm — busy weeks, allow 2–3 days. Not the photo — it's alive, size and shape vary. Limited daily — a set number of plant deliveries each day.
